Bio:

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly companion, foster mom says I’m the gal for you. I like to follow her around throughout the day, but she says it’s not in a needy, pest way. She describes it as “a nice, loving, sweet way. Nothing stressful or anxious.” I was really scared when I joined my foster home because I didn’t get out much in my previous home. So, all the new things frightened me. But over time, with lots of patience and yummy treats, I’ve become something of an adventurer. My foster parents have taken me on all kinds of field trips to show me how much fun our big, wide world can be.

I share my foster home with a darling young girl and another dog. He’s pretty chill, so we get along. Noisy, boisterous dogs tend to scare me; foster mom says I’d probably be OK as an only dog since I’m so people-oriented. But I’d be fine with a calm, mellow canine companion. We’re not sure how I’d be with cats as I have high prey drive with critters in the yard. Foster mom also says I’m a quick learner, so I’m mastering basic obedience skills while I wait for my forever home. So, if you have an opening for a champion snuggler in your home, let’s set up a meeting!

Weight: 60 pounds

Good with kids? Yes, with calmer children

Good with cats? Unknown

Adoption fee: $550

Medical concerns: Taking medication to control anxiety; her foster mom says this has made a huge difference for Flo.

Requirements: A fenced yard is required because Flo is a flight risk; when frightened her instinct is to bolt. Taking at least one series of positive reinforcement training classes to promote socialization, good manners and bonding with her new family. Experienced dog owners with the patience and willingness to let Flo blossom at her pace. Flo’s adopters also should be willing to meet her a few times before actually adopting her and taking her home; AGaG has found this helps timid dogs like Flo transition better to their new home.
