INTRO As told by Winnie

Hello! My name is Winnie. According to my foster mom, I’m a great dog with a sweet personality and a pretty face. She says I am a beautiful girl. I couldn’t agree more, I know I’m very pretty!

I’m a retired breeder dog and as such I have some timid behaviors, but foster mom is helping me gain confidence. I enjoy taking walks and car rides to different places and jump in when it’s time to go. My foster mom has four other goldens, all fosters just like me, and I love playing with them. I’ve learned to play fetch with the ball and often tease the other dogs with it when I get to it first. You probably think I sound perfect, and I’m close to it. I’m starting to work on basic obedience cues. I already know how to sit, so I’m not too worried about the other cues.

I ignore cats and like to be petted by the young girl next door, but I will move away and get worried when someone moves suddenly. I am not too outgoing with new people until I get to know them. I need a patient and calm family who will understand that I need time to show you my loving personality. So, if you give me time to build up my trust, I will reward you with being a wonderful companion.

 BEHAVIOR:

Winne has settled in nicely to her new home and is enjoying the company of her foster mom and four other golden retrievers. She is still a timid dog in new situations. Once she is comfortable, she is more confident.

HEALTH:

Overall, Winnie is in good health except for a low-grade mast cell tumor that was removed near her ear. It couldn’t be removed with clear margins due to the location, so the area requires monitoring.

ADDITIONAL INSIGHTS:

Winne is not just a pretty face but an affectionate dog ready to bring joy and companionship to her forever home. Her ease with other dogs is evident in the joy she finds in playing fetch and playing with the other golden retrievers in her foster home. Her enthusiasm is contagious, making her an ideal companion for those who are ready to reap the rewards of adding a retired breeding female to their home.
