Bio:

Senior Citizen? Hip dysplasia? Be serious. Foster mom says I gallop across the yard like I’m a teenager. Okay, the anti-inflammatory helps and so does my decent weight, but still, I’m too busy enjoying life to let these things spoil my fun!

I play with my furry foster siblings indoors and out. We play with toys inside and run and do zoomies out back. Sometimes we look to see if the kids next door are available to play or we might chase bunnies!

When the vet first met me, he said I seemed like “. . . a happy and friendly guy.” He added that I have a good appetite. I do. I was rather underweight when rescued from Puerto Rico, but I’ve gained six pounds since then. Sometimes my interest in food gets me into trouble. I’ve been known to counter surf, using my height to my advantage. But then comes foster mom, who corrects this behavior with a firm “NO,” and my food search comes to an end. (And I have to give whatever I found back to her.)

I do my business outside, know the commands sit, down, off, come, leave it, shake, and every parent’s favorite, NO. Foster mom thinks I’m a good boy for waiting my turn and taking treats gently. I also come when I’m called and am good on leash. I don’t bark often, but when I do it’s either because I’m happy or I want to get my furry sister’s attention.

When morning comes, I’m so happy! I parade around the house carrying one of the dog beds or socks or towels, whatever I can find.

My use of stairs is an unknown factor as there are no stairs at foster mom’s house. I do jump into and out of her van quite readily.

Left alone I’m prone to chewing up stuffies and more, so during the night and when mom’s away, I rest in my crate.

“Toyo is a sweet boy, loves attention, petting, and hugs, and settles easily in the house.,” that’s what my foster mom says about me. I hope we can meet so you can see for yourself!
