INTRODUCTION As told by Simba

In Disney’s “The Lion King,” a delightful movie about Simba, a young lion who must learn his place in the world, a couple of themes are important. One is “the circle of life,” and the other is hakuna matata,” or “no worries.” I can relate to both.

I am a 7-year-old golden mix who, thanks to As Good as Gold, has enjoyed a pretty good life. I was rescued from Puerto Rico as a puppy and AGaG placed me with a loving home where I learned lots about being part of a family. Mostly I learned that I LOVE people and I LOVE affection! It’s been a good run, but circumstances have changed, and my previous owner can no longer give me the attention I need. Because she loved me, she made the difficult choice to relinquish me back to AGaG. She knows that they will work their magic and find me another fur-ever home. So, I have come full-circle, and rather like Simba the lion, I am ready – and excited – for Act II.

If you are interested in being part of my second act, you won’t be sorry. I will be a loyal companion who will bring you joy and make you smile. But don’t take my word for it; listen to one of my dog walkers who reached out to AGaG to offer this five-star review about me:

“Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Simba will have hit the dog jackpot. Simba is sweet, silly, kind, loving, playful, friendly, adorable, good with dogs, and simply a joy to be around. He’s extra special … he deserves the best life.”

You wouldn’t be able to tell, but I am blushing under my fur.

My foster dad pretty much concurs with my former dog walker. He will tell you that I don’t need to be crated because I am trustworthy and never get into things I shouldn’t. I behave fine when left alone, but that doesn’t mean I like it. If you leave me behind, I might howl a bit to let you know that I’m still there – just in case you meant to bring me with and just forgot. But I settle pretty quickly and will patiently wait for your return.

Because of AGaG, we can both look to the future with hakuna matata. They do such a great job of matching dogs with people that there are no worries; everyone comes out a winner. Would you be interested in playing a leading role in “The Dog King sequel? Let’s talk!
