Prize in a box square

It’s been a long journey for me, from eating rocks and garbage as a stray in Puerto Rico, to living in Chicago with a wonderful foster family.  They have been calling me Rico in honor of my heritage.  I wasn’t housebroken and was skin and bones and heartworm positive when I arrived.

After my treatment and lots of love, look at me now!  I am a handsome 8 year old boy who now knows how to walk nicely on a leash, greet the neighbors with a happy bark, and as you can see, I have a big smile since I have hit the jackpot at a chance at a new life.

I am a typical golden who loves to be by my people and follow them everywhere.  I get along with my foster sibling just fine.  We don’t really roughhouse, because I’m not even sure what that’s about.

I love when people come over to visit, and I don’t get too exuberant (I think that means crazy!).  Why don’t you come and meet me and I will show you what a prize I am?
