We adopted Maisey on September 12th of 2020, and it’s been a beautiful year with our girl!

My partner (Remy) and I love taking Maisey to our local dog park. She loves other dogs, but her favorite thing to do is sit in between people’s legs. She’ll just run up to them and go directly through their legs. Most people at the park know to stand wider so she doesn’t knock them over when she does that.

Some other goofy things about her:

– She’s taught herself how to “sit pretty,” so she looks like a little meerkat.

– She loves the beach and likes to bite the waves.

– She really loves carrying flowers in her mouth and gets excited whenever she sees them.

Maisey is really great at identifying if you’re frustrated, too. She’ll walk right over to you, and if you’re on the couch, she’ll crawl into your lap to cuddle like a golden weighted blanket. I’ve never had a dog who just loves so freely and deeply, and I can’t help but smile every time I look at her.

I lost my job during the pandemic, and while it was scary being a type one diabetic without insurance, Maisey was there to help ease my worry. I was able to get insurance through my partner but was at a low emotionally. Yet, after each walk with our girl, I’d feel a little bit better. Now, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been, and I truly don’t believe I would have gotten here if it hadn’t been for her. She’s truly become my best friend. She motivated me to go after what I wanted in a career, so I can provide her with the best. I can happily say I’m on my way to doing that for her!
