Bio:
Aren’t we a pair? Well, actually, yes, we are, a bonded pair.
I’m Ernie, the golden retriever, and this is my pal, Archie, a Newfoundland. I’m 8-years old, he’s 6.
We know basic commands. In fact, I was trained for hunting, so am a bit more trustworthy off leash. Our foster dad has been practicing with Archie as he gets accustomed to walking with his new harness. We’re housetrained and have been in a home where we rang a bell when we wanted to go outside.
Currently, we’re living with a kind foster family, which includes three other dogs. Foster mom told us we were nice houseguests!
For fun, we like to play in the backyard, play ball, and going for swims! Playing with the dogs who live here are exciting pastimes too! Oh, and I enjoy carrying around my stuffies and showing them to everyone!
The five of us dogs get “group treat time!” Archie and I know to accept them gently. We have separate locations for mealtime though as it works more smoothly that way. (Sometimes Archie or I can get “fussy” when we’re all trying to eat at the same time.)
Both of us like being close to people. I try to get on people’s laps when I can (doesn’t seem to be encouraged) and being petted is so very luxurious—I’m a leaner, so you can’t miss me!
Foster mom calls Archie a love bug. He would like to be hugged and petted 24/7. He likes his butt scratched too and will speak up if you stop.
Oh, Archie reminded me to tell you that it would be best for us to have a fenced-in yard. And foster mom reminded me to tell you that it’s unknown how we’d be with cats. She added that we’re “a couple of sweet boys!” Are you looking for a couple of sweet, furry dogs who love to be loved? We’d love you right back!
