INTRODUCTION As told by Chrissy

After eight years as a breeder, I earned my retirement and was relinquished to As Good as Gold. What luck! I thought. This golden’s golden years are gonna be great! I was sent to a foster family with several other dogs and a cat, and for a while, my head was spinning. But everyone was kind and helpful, and I learned for myself what all retired breeders hope: THAT FAMILY LIFE IS THE BEST THING SINCE CHEESE WHIZ.

After settling in and learning the basics of being part of a family, I earned a reputation for being laid back and sweet. Of course, there were a few hiccups along the way. Initially, there was some concern that the way I wrinkled my nose and raised my lip was an aggressive behavior. But foster mom quickly realized that that’s how I smile! And I smile often. There’s not an aggressive bone in my body. Another quirk was that I have unique tastes. My preferred choice of appetizer is electronics; think TV remote with a side of iPhone. Obviously, this was not welcomed behavior, but foster mom and dad understood that I didn’t know any better. I am still learning that this is not appropriate, and to be safe, I willingly go in my crate when I’m left alone or at night. Problem (kind of) solved.

Once these issues were identified and dealt with, I was deemed ready to move on. It didn’t take long before I found a wonderful family who loved me deeply. Life was turning out just as I had hoped. But sadly, my new family encountered some serious health challenges and couldn’t keep me.

Back in the ‘60’s, there was a superhero dog cartoon called “Underdog.” Underdog’s famous line was, “There’s no need to fear, Underdog is here!” So, like Underdog, AGaG swooped in and took me back because that’s what AGaG does. Luckily, my previous foster mom and dad welcomed me back warmly, and I settled right back in. I’m very comfortable and happy to be here, but I’m eager to get these golden years back on track and find my furever home (and my own cheese whiz)!

I hope you will take this golden opportunity to open your doors and your hearts to me. I have so much love to give. I promise you won’t be sorry. Speaking of golden opportunities, as a senior dog my adoption fee is a reduced $200. And once you adopt a senior dog like me through AGaG, the adoption fee is waived for any other senior dogs you adopt from AGaG.
