I am a beautiful girl that needs a very special home.  I was a fearful dog so my new home must have a dog that I can follow to show me that everything is ok and I would prefer a fenced in yard.  I take a couple of pills to help me with my fears.  I am also afraid of thunderstorms and need someone with me to keep me calm.  If no one is home, I can be destructive.

I am a larger girl right now.  When I got to my foster home, I weighed in at 110 pounds!  About 45 pounds overweight.  I have been doing great with my weight loss plan and recently weighed in at 91 pounds.  I have a way to go, but I am on the right track.  I love to go for rides in the car, but I need a little help getting in.  Due to my size, I block the mirrors a bit.  I also love to go for walks and I get very excited when the leash comes out.  I will need someone who likes to walk to help me continue to get my girlish figure back.

I get along great with other dogs, but I don’t know how to play.  I just need to be with them to keep helping me with my fearful nature.  I am a very loving dog and love to be brushed.  I am not a very active girl, but hopefully that will change once I am at a good weight.  I love greeting people when they come over.  I am full of happy wags when visitors come over.

Adoption Process
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

  • Be at least 23 years of age

  • No children under 6 years of age living in your home

  • We primarily adopt goldens to families living within Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and the southern most counties of Wisconsin

  • If you do not own your residence or live in a condo, you will need a letter from your landlord or property management company

  • Provide excellent vet care for your dog(s)

  • Do not use an invisible fence

  • Are not over your town/county's pet limit

  • Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

  • Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
