Bio:
Looking for a spunky, very sweet golden retriever? Look no further!
I’m 7-years old, though foster mom feels I look and act younger than that—what a compliment! I love being part of my foster family, which includes two dogs to play with and mentor me.
Having had experience with fostering and owning many dogs, foster mom is impressed with the way I’ve acclimated to family life after not being part of a family during my first six years. I enjoy attention from humans so much that I’ll work my way between her dogs to claim my share of pets and touches from foster mom. She’s also noticed that I don’t tend to seclude myself as compared to other dogs with a similar background. It’s true. I like being out and about to roam freely throughout the house with the other dogs. I don’t need a “safe space.” My happy place is with my humans.
Points for consideration:
- Housebreaking: I’d grade myself an A-. I’ve had three accidents in the house, which mom considers “not bad at all.”
- I have not chewed on anything inappropriate in my foster home.
- I don’t like storms. Four paws down on those.
- A couple of “must haves:” fenced yard and mentor dog. I am retired from breeding, so these are necessary in my new home.
Interested in a health report?
- I’ve been spayed.
- I had a couple of lumps on my mammary glands and on my hip removed. All were clear.
- The vet removed a broken tooth
- I’m heart worm negative, brucellosis negative, and all additional blood work is “within normal limits.” (That’s “medical speak!”)
Oh, you need to know this: I walk nicely on a leash and can use the stairs with ease.
Do I get a little fearful at times, well, yes, but it’s so minimal. I feel at peace with a loving, human family, and I’m very willing to be your best friend.
