As Good as Gold is such a wonderful organization! When we lost our dog last May, we found ourselves without a dog for the first time in 32 years. We started the process of adopting a golden. We, that is, Tami!, had a hard time waiting, so we adopted a breeder dog from Ohio. She had recently had two still-born litters and the owner decided to sell her rather than trying again. Bonnie, age 4, was quite traumatized. She was shy, introverted, and afraid of everything. Whenever she went out to the backyard, we had to coax her back into the house, she had probably never been inside a house before. Once inside, she would head straight to the living room and not set foot anywhere else in the house. It took weeks for her to get comfortable enough to explore.

We let As Good as Gold know about Bonnie. Within a very short time, even by Tami’s standards, they helped us find a companion for her. They understood that Bonnie was not doing well as the only dog in the house. Then came Lana, age 5. She was also a breeder dog but was much more socialized and outgoing. As Good as Gold thought she would be a good match. They were right. Lana is a sweet and wonderful dog. She has been a blessing to every member of our household, especially Bonnie. Lana has done wonders to help bring Bonnie out of her shell. They do pretty much everything together, including roaming every corner of the house and romping and playing in the backyard. We love them both so much and are very grateful to As Good as Gold.
