When this beautiful 7-year-old boy Simba was relinquished by his owner last year and came to As Good as Gold, our vet saw that his hips were in really bad shape.
He needed femoral head ostectomy surgery on both hips. This is done when severe hip pain cannot be alleviated any other way.

Simba’s diagnostic tests and surgery expenses have totaled $10,000 so far! He still needs ongoing physical and water treadmill therapy to strengthen his legs. This may take a few more months, but we’re now actively starting to look for his perfect forever home.
