Bio:

What does the word Xena mean? “A tough, physical, confident woman.”  The name is of Greek origin, a diminutive of Xenia, and points to someone “hospitable.” Xena is the perfect name for this lovely golden retriever who is looking for her forever home.

Xena is a 5-year-old golden that came to As Good as Gold at the end of July. It was noticed that she is an outgoing young lady, immediately seeking attention from the AGaG transport volunteers.  When houseguests arrive at foster mom’s house, she greets them politely, yet enthusiastically!

Once introduced, Xena became friends with the two dogs in her foster home. She’s calm, quiet, friendly, and enjoys interacting with people and other dogs.  She’s learned to take treats gently and only when it’s her turn.  She’s learned come, sit, lay down, drop it, and is working on stay.  Xena should be easy to train, as she likes treats and picks up ideas quickly.

Xena likes to play ball in the yard and is good about bringing toys back into the house that she took out with her.  She enjoys being brushed and especially likes to be petted.

The legendary Xena was a mighty warrior princess.  This Xena is looking for a family to join her in her life-long journey. Are you that family?
