Eighteen months ago, Willow was rescued from a breeding environment and placed in a wonderful As Good as Gold foster home.

When we first adapted her, she was very skittish. She was frightened of every noise and sudden movement. After 18 months, she has settled in.

Willow is the sweetest, most loving dog! She loves to be petted. She almost demands it from everyone near her! She actually talks to you! She has a guttural language all her own. At first I thought she was growling, but it is her way of showing approval.

Our golden, Sidney, has taken her under his wings. He allows her to think she’s the boss. Willow has learned how to walk on a leash, play with balls, and follow basic commands.

My husband and family say we saved a soul. Thanks to As Good as Gold we now have two furry loves!

Adoption Process
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

  • Be at least 23 years of age

  • No children under 6 years of age living in your home

  • We primarily adopt goldens to families living within Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and the southern most counties of Wisconsin

  • If you do not own your residence or live in a condo, you will need a letter from your landlord or property management company

  • Provide excellent vet care for your dog(s)

  • Do not use an invisible fence

  • Are not over your town/county's pet limit

  • Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

  • Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
