I am a beautiful girl that needs a very special home.  I lived my life in a kennel or cage and have not experienced the normal things a dog should be exposed to.  I am very fearful and need a family that will be patient in helping me continue to build my courage.  Dogs like me may never be normal, but we are so happy to have a loving home to continue our journey.  I take medication to help me so I can cope better with my surroundings.

My new home must have a dog that I can follow to show me that everything is ok.

  • A stable mentor dog – one that I can follow and watch to know what things are ok and not scary
  • Someone who is home often
  • A fenced in yard – since leash walking is scary
Adoption Process
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

  • Be at least 23 years of age

  • No children under 6 years of age living in your home

  • We primarily adopt goldens to families living within Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and the southern most counties of Wisconsin

  • If you do not own your residence or live in a condo, you will need a letter from your landlord or property management company

  • Provide excellent vet care for your dog(s)

  • Do not use an invisible fence

  • Are not over your town/county's pet limit

  • Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

  • Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
