Taylor was facing his last hours when As Good as Gold got the call from a shelter. This senior stray had a severe upper respiratory infection and was on the euthanasia list.
The shelter staff saw that he was so sweet and clearly not ready to give up on life.
So they called, hoping that we could rescue him that day before he would be euthanized. Of course one of our volunteers went right away!
Poor Taylor was in very rough shape. Life on the streets had not been kind to him. He had one of the worst ear infections we have ever seen, severe dental disease, plus the respiratory infection. Our veterinarian also discovered fatty tumors that needed to be surgically removed. Taylor was in a lot of pain, but so friendly and gentle.
Over the last month he has had extensive medical procedures and medications and is feeling so much better! And thanks to your continued support of As Good as Gold, we were able to be right there with him.
Taylor is now a new dog! He loves to go for walks and greet all of his new friends. Before he would barely move - he is a testament to how important it is to address chronic pain and infection. And his cough is almost gone too.
