Bio:

I’m a happy guy who is loving, smart and curious. I enjoy learning new things, going for walks and also just hanging out with my people. I get along with other dogs as long as they aren’t domineering. I am young and strong and still learning manners.

I turn heads with my stunning coat with unique white highlights. Everyone who meets me is immediately smitten.  At my core, I’m affectionate, smart, and playful — especially with another calm, confident dog in the home. I’m housetrained, respect gates, don’t chew when left alone, and sleep quietly through the night.

I do have some quirks. I will guard food from people and other dogs, so I should be fed separately and left alone when I eat. I also have space issues, so please don’t corner me, crowd me or force me into a small area, or grab my collar or harness.  I respond well to treats. I need a home that understands resource guarding and can continue working with me using positive reinforcement. For this reason, a home without young children is best.

I have made great progress with commands like “leave it” and “drop it,” especially with a treat-based “trade.”

I get along well with other respectful dogs and benefit from having a canine companion to help me feel secure. I thrive on routine and calm leadership. I currently take daily fluoxetine and may need sedation for vet visits due to past stress responses. My coat requires some upkeep, but I enjoy baths and blow-drying.  I absolutely love the water!  I am a great swimmer and love the boat life!

I will do best in a home with a fenced yard and dog-savvy adopters committed to setting boundaries, managing triggers and continuing my training. My new home should be one that’s quieter and calm with reliable routines. I respond best to soft voices and cues that I’ve learned (my training while with As Good as Gold has been extensive). I’ve come a long way and will make an incredible companion for the right person or family who can meet me where I’m at.  The reward? A loving, loyal companion.
