Looking for a golden gal with a golden personality? Guess what? That’s me, Lexi.

As Good As Gold may consider me a senior (and for you that means my adoption fee is a reduced $200), but this golden gal still has lots of love to give and energy to expend. Not that I’m crazy energetic, mind you; nope, foster mom calls me a medium-energy girl.

I am a retired breeder girl, so I needed to learn about living in a house with people. My foster family did a great job of that. My foster home includes mom, dad, their two sons (7 and 9) and two canine playmates. I absolutely love being outdoors (that is where I spent the first seven years of my life), so a fenced yard is a must for me (it will keep me entertained and safe), and I need at least one canine companion to help me learn the routines in my forever home.
Going for walks is another favorite activity of mine, so I hope you enjoy walks as much as I do. I also love playing with my canine pals, tennis balls and squeaky toys.

When I came into the AGAG family I was pretty sick and scared: I was heartworm positive, had nasty ear infections and wasn’t sure about being around people. With the love, care and patience of my foster family, I have conquered these challenges, feel healthy, like being with people and am ready for my next adventure: finding my forever home.

Foster mom says I’m very sweet and that I wag my tail when I’m happy (it’s wagging now). What do think? Can this golden gal wag her way into your life?

Adoption Process
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

  • Be at least 23 years of age

  • No children under 6 years of age living in your home

  • We primarily adopt goldens to families living within Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and the southern most counties of Wisconsin

  • If you do not own your residence or live in a condo, you will need a letter from your landlord or property management company

  • Provide excellent vet care for your dog(s)

  • Do not use an invisible fence

  • Are not over your town/county's pet limit

  • Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

  • Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
