We adopted our Puerto Rican baby Joshy (Josué) in 2015. When he arrived at our house he was just skin and bones, with hardly any fur on his tail. His ears were infected and he had a big pink scar underneath his chin. This poor 6 year old boy had been on the streets for a long time then, and he had much less in life than he deserved.

Joshy was welcomed to our family immediately, by both us and our other dog Sophie. His happy personality and smiling face made it impossible not to love him. Joshy has learned several tricks, enjoys the company of many others including our new kitten, and has overall completely changed from when we got him.

My family cannot thank AGAG enough for our best friend, and we’ll continue to go to them for any possible future dogs. Thank you AGAG for our baby boy.

Adoption Process
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

  • Be at least 23 years of age

  • No children under 6 years of age living in your home

  • We primarily adopt goldens to families living within Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and the southern most counties of Wisconsin

  • If you do not own your residence or live in a condo, you will need a letter from your landlord or property management company

  • Provide excellent vet care for your dog(s)

  • Do not use an invisible fence

  • Are not over your town/county's pet limit

  • Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

  • Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
