Our family lost our last dog a little over two years ago, and we reached the point when we were looking for a new furry family member. Sometime in December, my husband said, “I’d like another golden retriever for our next dog.” Our first dog many years ago was a golden. Then in early January, I just happened to meet Halley and her foster people by shear chance. I spotted Halley in the distance sitting nicely with Sandy, her foster mom. I just had to ask if I could pet her. “Of course! This is Halley, like Halley’s Comet.” When Halley and I looked at each other, I felt this deep connection, as if we had somehow met before. Sandy continued, “We’re fostering her now, and she’s available for adoption.” I almost hit the floor! “Oh! We’re looking!” Sandy told me all about Halley, and the As Good as Gold rescue organization. I had heard good things about AGaG before. I was so excited as I was talking to Sandy and her husband, Chris.
When I got home, I showed my husband, Dan, Halley’s photo. We set up a home visit with AGaG and a visit so Dan could meet Halley. The home visit with Michelle went very smoothly, and when Dan and Halley met each other, they really hit it off. They were buddies instantly. Sandy and Chris were SO helpful! They told us all about Halley and the process to adopt her. Sandy and Chris walked us through all Halley’s commands and her routine. She’s very smart, affectionate, playful and a complete snuggle bug. Our daughter and son absolutely adore her, and she gives it right back.
We were absolutely thrilled when the adoption went through! We can’t thank Sandy, Chris, Michelle and Lauren enough for helping us welcome this sweet dog into our family.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:
If interested please fill out our online adoption application form; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through. Please note that we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care and our bios are our current observations; we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history and as such breed and age estimates are an educated guess.
