Introduction As told by Chrissy
I am a retired breeder dog who is beautiful, sweet and mellow. Currently, I am adjusting to living in a home. My foster mom tells me I have made significant progress, but I still have more work to do. I am still learning to walk on a leash, and I tend to chew things I shouldn’t. I am looking for a loving family who can be patient with me while I become an even more fantastic dog than I am now. It would be great if they had another dog I could play with and learn from.
I recently attended an event at the Morton Arboretum with my foster mom, which was terrific. Meeting other dogs and people was so much fun, and I felt extremely comfortable and happy. My foster mom dressed me in a fall bandana and added a beautiful flower. Many people commented on how pretty I looked; I had such a great time! Whenever I meet new people or greet my foster family in the morning or when they come home, I wrinkle my nose and give them “my smile.”
BEHAVIOR
Chrissy is a calm and relaxed dog who doesn’t have a lot of energy. Although housebroken, she needs to be taken out to relieve herself multiple times throughout the day. She is learning basic obedience commands and enjoys playing with dog toys. Although a little shy, she quickly gets comfortable and is very friendly toward humans and other animals.
HEALTH
Chrissy is in good health overall. She had a few dental and ear debris issues that have been resolved. She was also recently spayed.
ADDITIONAL INSIGHTS
Chrissy is a lovely dog who would make a great addition to a family willing to shower her with love and patience on her journey to her best life. A mentor dog would also be a great help, not only for companionship but to show her how to be a dog. Nothing is more rewarding than helping a dog like Chrissy adjust to living in a home and witnessing her learn, grow and blossom daily!
