INTRODUCTION As told by Ares

Ares. Greek god of war. Bold fighter. Fearless. Beautiful physical specimen.

Could that be me? Nah … not really, though I have been told that with my pale gold, curly hair I am quite a looker. And it is true that I’ve been known to throw my weight around with other dogs. But the truth is – as the song says – I’ve been looking for love in all the wrong places.

But my story will have a happy ending, because my previous owners relinquished me to As Good as Gold! Everyone I’ve met from AGaG has been so wonderful and they’ve made me feel so much better about myself! My foster mom is A-MAZING! She gets me. She understands that I just don’t want to share my humans with other dogs. But she also understands that when properly introduced, I can sometimes learn to pal around with other pooches (just so long as they don’t live with me).

Mom says I love to roll in the damp grass in the morning and will occasionally sneak a tomato off the vine. She has learned that I love pizza (because it’s the only thing that I’ll swipe off the counter). She knows I hate squirrels and deer, but I love all the smells of the neighborhood. She understands I can be a bit stubborn when my plans are different than hers. But she also knows I am a “gentle” man when I take a treat from her hand.

Mom acknowledges that I am not a perfect dog, but she promises that I am a good one. She knows that if I can find the right patient and loving person/family, if I can finally find love in the right place, I will become a great dog. Maybe together we can change my name from Ares (Greek god of war) to Eros (Greek god of love).
