What Does Fundraising Entail?

Fundraising events are opportunities to educate the public about rescued golden retrievers and As Good as Gold, as well as raise money for the organization. Since we are a non-for profit group, we rely solely on donations to support our work. Donations go towards program services including veterinary care, canine transport and supplies, and public education as well as administrative costs.

We are always looking for creative and energetic people to help us with our major fundraising event each year – A Golden Gala. Every talent from data entry to auction prize gathering is needed and welcome!

Members are also needed at a variety of events throughout the year, including community festivals, and larger scale events such as the Chicagoland Family Pet Expo. We normally distribute brochures, describe the adoption process, sell our products (clothing, calendar, doggie bandannas, etc.), and solicit donations. Many events can even be attended by you AND your Golden…a great way to spread the word about these wonderful dogs and share your own stories.
