With all that has been going on with the coronavirus (COVID-19) and now Governor Pritzker’s “stay-at-home” order, we want to update you on what As Good as Gold is doing. We have a responsibility to our dogs, members and volunteers to keep them all safe and to avoid contributing to the spread of the virus in our communities.

The Board of Directors has been following the situation and the recommendations from the CDC and WHO. For those reasons, the Spring Membership Meeting was cancelled and all Meet & Greets have already been postponed.

The “stay-at-home” order means home visits and adoptions will be postponed until May 31, when the order expires. Any emergency or medically necessary transports will be performed with added safety precautions.

We realize there will be situations where a dog needs to be relinquished, or otherwise turned in to As Good as Gold, and cannot be postponed. We will still accept incoming dogs. These will also be performed with added safety precautions.

These are unprecedented times. Our responsibility to our dogs, members and volunteers will remain a top priority. The Board will continue to keep ourselves informed by the facts. Watch our website and your email for future updates.

Best regards,
AGaG Board of Directors
